Summer loves Elmo!! Sesame Street is her number one thing it comforts her makes her smile. She loves music and her mommy! Being outdoors is another thing she loves.
When Summer was 9 months old she wasn’t eating or going to the bathroom anymore. Her stomach was expanding quickly. It was then that she was diagnosed with high risk Neuroblastoma.
Summer has been through four chemotherapy sessions, double Hickman line placement, stem cell transplant removal, fluid by her lungs so they’re removing that with a needle, & a fungal infection. So much for such a young child!
My husband has to work while Summer and I are usually at the hospital together. Family time and normal life activities don’t exist. Unless we all find time to do things in our hospital room when Summer feels okay.
It’s amazing how Summer has been knocked down but still smiles and plays when she can. The more we get into treatment and things happen like mucositis, sores due to chemo, or bacteria infections- she amazes me!! It gets harder and harder but she acts like it’s all okay. She’s my hero!
