Kourtney is a huge animal lover! Horses are her favorite, and she enjoys horseback riding at least a couple times a week. Almost all of the clothes she picks out have horses/unicorns on them. She also loves to go swimming when possible! I have no doubt that when she is done with treatment and gets the a-ok from her doctor, she will be a very outdoorsy kind of girl!
When she was 5 1/2 months old, Kourtney was diagnosed with Leukemia. She was the picture of health, with the exception of petechiae on her legs. She had absolutely no other cancer symptoms, and was a very happy baby.
Cancer changed so much for our family. We had to move to Seattle, while Kourtney was inpatient for 8 months. Then moved 6 hours away to a different city (Spokane), because we couldn’t afford Seattle.
Kourtney has been in treatment for nearly two years, and is currently at the end of long term maintenance. She has had many, many LP and BMA, plus three surgeries. There are definitely struggles, the main one being that Kourtney cannot go out in public most of the time. It makes it difficult to be able to expose her to new environments and new people.
