Hadrian LOVES video games which he got into when he was in the hospital the first time. The hospital had gaming systems and he couldn’t really walk around so that’s all he did. He also loves art/drawing. He’s a great big brother and spends time playing with his little sister.
My son was diagnosed when he was 3. He then relapsed at the age of 6. One of the tumors was above his eye and it caused him to look like a black eye. No one could figure out what it was. Then he started going to the bathroom and drinking a lot, which is caused by diabetes insipidus. It is a common condition to get with LCH so they tested him for it. The second time there wasn’t any odd symptoms. He just had two fleshy lumps on his head, which came on very fast.
He went through 18 weeks of chemo and steroids the first time and a year the second time. We struggled the first time financially and ended up having to move in with family. We’re back on our feet and doing okay now though. This summer marks 5 years in remission!
