Soren was diagnosed with Chronic Granulomatous Disease (CGD), a rare immunodeficiency, last year. He has since undergone 2 rounds of chemo and 2 bone marrow transplants. After his first transplant unexpectedly failed, we thought all hope was lost, however,  he’s doing great since the second transplant and is thriving and making progress every day. We’ve been in the hospital for about 6 months and are excited that he may be able to leave soon. He really is a Fighter and ever so resilient. The main symptoms he had leading up to his diagnosis were fatigue and irritability.

Soren’s treatment has included chemo, lung surgery, two bone marrow transplants, bone marrow biopsies, bronchoscopy, endoscopy, and colonoscopy.

This disease has changed everything about our lives but Soren remains joyful; his smile lights up the whole room. He wants everyone to be included in everything. He is very welcoming and accepting and especially loving.
